Arrival and access
Worth knowing before you book
- Private parking is €30 a night and must be booked: there are few spaces and no alternative within walking distance in the upper town.
- We are inside the limited-traffic zone. We need your number plate before arrival to register the permit, otherwise the fine reaches you weeks later.
- The building dates from the seventeenth century: some rooms are reached by stairs only, and the walls are the original ones, so a little sound travels between rooms.
- Three rooms have their private bathroom just outside the door — for your exclusive use, but not inside the room. The rooms page says which ones.
Breakfast
Breakfast made to order
This is not a buffet laid out at dawn and left there. Eggs, pancakes, waffles and bacon are cooked to order, the croissants come out of the oven while you walk down, the fruit is cut on the spot. Our own staff is in the kitchen, every morning.
Cheese and cured meats come from producers around Bergamo: the Italian province with the most PDO cheeses begins twenty minutes from here, so buying them elsewhere made no sense.
Breakfast is served in the garden whenever the weather allows, or in the room with the fireplace.
